There are many ways to get dough writing online and one of the hottest and most rewarding ways is blogging. While writing for others can also bring you profit, there is no greater satisfaction than having your own piece of real estate on the Internet that generates traffic and brings you revenue.
Blogging is fast becoming the next best way to share information and interact with other people in your business or area of interest. They have become so popular that many secondary sites have appeared all over the Internet to index, view and link millions of blogs there.
There are many reasons why you may want your own blog; One of the most popular reasons to have a blog these days is to earn extra income. Most of us have heard the stories of entrepreneurs who earn six figures just for blogging every day and wonder if we can make that kind of money. Such stories are the rare exceptions and are based on people who have been working in it for a long time.
This doesn’t mean you can’t make money from your blog, you certainly can, but it will take a lot of time, effort and dedication on your part. It is also a good idea not to rely on just one blog for your income, you should also consider other websites or appear in multiple income streams.
Patience is needed to generate revenue from your blog; many website owners have given up frustrated after only three to six months, not realizing that slow growth is normal and there is nothing to worry about. In fact, most search engines frown if your traffic grows too fast because it often shows them that the blog has done something to earn that traffic.
To set up your blog, you will first need a domain and a web hosting account, you can get free blog accounts, but if traffic and revenue are your goal, you are much better off with your own domain. You will need a blogging platform, I recommend Word Press that it is free and script number 1 for blogs is available.
Be sure to do your research on the best way to create your blog and notice it, there are hundreds of sites that will teach you how. Be prepared to post every day, leaving your blog sitting for days at a time without posts, you won’t notice it and it’s one of the worst things you can do as a new blogger. People will subscribe to your blog in news readers and will unsubscribe just as quickly if they don’t find new content day after day.
Affiliate advertising such as Google Ad Sense will provide most of your revenue, and as your blog becomes more popular, you’ll receive offers from companies that want to pay you to sponsor them. When you become better acquainted with your topic, you can consider writing e-books as another source of income.
A blog is a long-term project that requires effort, dedication and patience, but success brings not only a decent income, but also a sense of accomplishment in something you have created.
